Entrepreneurial habits you need to develop

In Summary

The sad bit however is that for some people some of these traits and qualities come naturally while others have to develop these qualities. That isn’t particularly important, what matters is that an entrepreneur or somebody that wants to be an entrepreneur has some or at least most of these traits.

Kampala

Sometimes you don’t have to choose a lifestyle, the lifestyle chooses you. There are people whose natural qualities and traits make them more suited for some tasks better than others. In the same way some people have bodies that make it easier for them to become world class athletic runners or wrestling champions, other people have traits that make it easier for them to become successful entrepreneurs. The sad bit however is that for some people some of these traits and qualities come naturally while others have to develop these qualities. That isn’t particularly important, what matters is that an entrepreneur or somebody that wants to be an entrepreneur has some or at least most of these traits.

Ambition
Successful entrepreneurs have a good degree of ambition, it runs deep. It’s a basically a burning desire to succeed. It’s a burning desire to succeed regardless of what stands in your way. If you are so ambitions that it sometimes scares, don’t be scared. Ambition is what drives entrepreneurs.
Some people like to demonize ambition - they call it names like greed. But don’t be fooled, in business, ambition is a good thing.

Determination and persistence
Business is often not easy, its not child play, it’s not for the weak spirited who can’t stand a storm. It’s requires deep determination. It’s for people who don’t quit easily. Some things in life are easy but business isn’t one of them.

Internal locus of control
There are people who rely purely on fate, then there those who believe that fate always needs a helping hand. People with an external locus of control simply seat on their hands and pray that good luck comes in their direction...just like that. They simply rely on luck. Then there those with an internal locus of control. Entrepreneurs have in internal locus of control, they believe they can influence whatever or most of what happens to them. They don’t just sit back, cross their arms and hope for fortune to come their way.

Creativity and innovation
Every entrepreneur must have a degree of creativity and innovation. Successful entrepreneurs usually think out of the box. Their ideas don’t have to particularly be original; they might take an already existing idea and improve on it, polish it or dress it in a better outfit.

Motivation
Motivation is like a shower, its something we need daily. In today’s business environment, it’s so easy to get discouraged, put down or simply distracted. Everybody needs some kind of motivation, for an entrepreneur it’s important to stay motivated, otherwise when business starts to become tough you will be tempted to quit.
