How many cars do you have?
I have three cars. A Spacio, Golf and a truck.

Which of these cars do you love the most?
I love the Golf

Where did you buy this car from and at how much?
I bought the Golf from Japan at Shs18m.

What’s the model of the Golf?
It’s a Golf 4.

How do you cope up with its maintenance?
German cars are not hard to maintain as long as you do the servicing in time.

Do you have specific days you drive it?
Yes, I have. I don’t drive it when I am going to use roads with a lot of potholes

Have you got offers from people wanting to buy this car?
Yes, of course. Ugandans always want to buy nice things.
I have received a lot of offers, especially from friends but I am not selling. I am attached to it.

Where do you buy it’s spare tyres?
I buy them from City Oil.

Where do you get the inspiration to drive this kind of car?
I have a friend called Ivan. He owns three Golfs so he inspired me to buy this kind of car.

Do you share it with friends or relatives?
No, I do not share this car. My friend told me it’s not good to share a German car.

What is its engine size and it’s speed limit?
It’s 1.8. It’s consumption is good for my finances. It’s speed limit is 260kph, which is good, especially if I am travelling upcountry.

Is it manual or automatic?
It’s automatic definitely.
I want easy things sometimes.

How much do you spend on fuel in a week?
I spend close to Shs200,000 around town.

What’s the furthest you have driven?
I have been to very many places with it. I have been to Gulu, Mbarara, Mbale. It’s a good car to travel in.

What’s the worst moment that happened to you on the road?
The day it failed to start was frustrating.
It’s computer needed to be reset and my mechanic had to move a long distance to reset it.

Is this your first car?
No, it’s not. This is my second car.

What characteristics does it have that other cars don’t?
One thing about German cars, especially the Golf, is that it’s very stable on the road without heavy loads yet other cars only get stable when you load them with stuff.

What’s your dream car?
It’s a Mercedes G-Wagon. I actually want to own a variety of them in different models.

Where do you service the Golf and how often do you do it?
I use Total Kibuli and I do it every after three months.
