What type of car do you drive?
It’s a Toyota Corolla 1.6 VVTi 1992 model

Why did you buy this kind of a car?
This car is good enough for my day-to-day work. It is also pocket friendly when it comes to fuel consumption.

Is this your only car?
No. I also own a Jeep Cherokee.

How much does it take to fill up the Toyota?
To fill, it costs only Shs145,000.

How long have you owned this car?
Two months now.

Where did you buy it?
I bought it from a friend who relocated to Germany.

How much did you buy that car?
I bought it at Shs10m.

If you are to sell, how much would you ask?
I “pimp” my cars before sale. This one has got a very high resale value of Shs12m-Shs13m.

What is the furthest you have gone with this car?
Kampala to Gulu and back.

What challenges have you faced with it?
The only thing I hate about is the boot. It is not big enough. In my line of work, most of the time I travel with deejays. For us to fit in one car with the sound equipment, we need space.

It is a low car, how do you handle Kampala potholes?
I handled that immediately I got the car. I’m the kind of person who lifts cars. For this one, I lifted it 10 inches to get over the potholes.

Where do you do the service?
I normally go to City Oil.

Do you wash the car yourself?
I love washing my own car because as a young boy, it was one of the daily activities I used to do with my dad.
I promised myself to do it when I owned my own car. But sometimes, I end up taking it to a car wash.

Do you have specific days you drive this car?
Since the other one is still in the garage, I drive this one every day.

Do you let anyone else drive it? Like friends and family?
I don’t let anyone drive my car but I’m so good at giving lifts. I believe that is the best I can do for someone.

What inspires you to drive this kind of a car?
The sporty feel it gives me when I’m behind the wheel is what I love about it.

Some drivers fix their own cars when they break down. Are you among those who do it?
No, I don’t. I’m not wired to do that. There is no way I can attempt to fix my car because I’m not a mechanic. Just the way a mechanic cannot attempt to hold a microphone like I do.
