What you need to know:

Arthur Sunday Ruhowabwooba is a comedian and radio presenter. Lawrence Ogwal asked him about his car.

What do you do?
I am a stand-up comedian. I perform with the Crackers and a radio presenter at Galaxy FM. I also own Kidoz Entertainment, which deals in children entertainment.

What car do you drive?
Toyota Fun Cargo model 2001.

Why the Toyota Fun Cargo?
I like the space. I can keep in equipment like bouncy castles and other stuff that I use.

When did you buy it?
I bought it on December 23, 2014.

Where did you buy the car and at how much?
Including taxes, it was Shs16m. I ordered it online via SBT Japan website in October 2014.

What is the longest distance you have driven?
The longest was Kampala to Jinja and back.

Do you share your car?
I do. Sometimes, I don’t like sharing it but there are friends who always ask for it and I can’t refuse.

How much would you sell it if you decide to?
I have not thought of it but just in case, not less than Shs14m.

Is it the first car you have owned?
It is my second. In 2013, I and a friend owned a Toyota Vitz. We sold it when she went abroad. That was what I topped up for the Fun Cargo.

What is your dream car?
Any Mercedes Benz would do for me.

How often do you service your car?
Every three or four months. I have a particular mechanic. If it is serious, I look for a specialist.

How much does it cost to service the car?
Shs120,00 to Shs150,000

Do you wash the car yourself?
On Sundays when I am home, I wash it myself but on weekdays, it is any washing bay.

Did you go to a driving school?
No. It is funny how I learnt to drive. We were in a bar and my female friends were drunk and asked me to drive them home. I didn’t want to get embarrassed as I didn’t know how to drive. I “gambled” with the car from Centenary Park to Makindye. I refuelled the car and I drove the whole night until 10am in the next morning.

Was that when you finally learnt how to drive?
I didn’t but I kept practising. The first time I drove gave me confidence on the road.

Most celebrities drive big cars, why not you?
I envy big cars but they are out of my budget. When I am in position to, I will but not now.

How often do you drive your car in a week?
I drive almost every day.

How much do you spend on fuel?
It is 1.3 VVTI so I don’t spend much. I only drive within town, I spend Shs60,000 per week.
