What car do you drive?
I drive a Golf 5, model 2008.

How much did you buy it?

I bought it at Shs35m
Why did you choose that one?

I like German cars.
Why do you like German cars?

They are fast, strong, comfortable, durable and stable on the road.
When you are driving a German car, you feel safe because great care is taken when manufacturing them.

Why a black car?
I wanted black because it helps me keep it clean. It is very telling if you don’t care or clean it, so I wash or dust it regularly.

What are your normal route?
I drive it from home in Nansana to my office which is on Luwum Street.
How much do you spend on fuel in a day?
Shs50,000. That covers the trips from home to town.

What are the three things you like most about your car?
I like speed, comfort and its look. I like compact cars. Plus, I like the Golf because it is a respected car.
Every time I park it, people treat me with respect.

What was your first car?
It was a Golf 3 before I got a Golf 4.

Where do you buy your cars?
I bought the first two from friends; the first one was Shs6.8m and the second was Shs18m. For this one, I ordered it online. It cost me Shs35m.

Do you save before buying a car?
Yes. Cars cost a lot of money so I have had to save for all of them.

What mechanical issues have you had with Golf cars?
The shocks have always had issues because I drive fast and on bumpy roads given the potholes. It is a reality I have learnt to live with.

How often do you service the car?
It depends on the mileage. I usually go for service after driving for about 10,000 kilometres. I hope that is safe enough.

Where do you service, and why?
I service from Shell fuel stations because they have good oil. It is where I turn when I need to fuel the car.

Who taught you how to drive?
His name has skipped my mind. We would go to Mulago grounds, near the main hospital.
It is interesting that I learnt how to drive in a manual car but I drive an automatic.

How did you get the permit?
I went through the routine, legal process. I even went to Naguru police grounds to test my driving skills and I passed.
I then proceeded to process my driving permit from Face Technologies in Kyambogo.

What has been your worst road experience?
I had an accident on the Northern by-pass. I was tired. I was returning from a late-night session.

What do you think of fellow road users?
They need to be careful, especially while driving because roads are not only used by motorists but also pedestrians.

What’s your dream car and why?
It is a Range Rover Sport. I have to drive that car someday. It is a comfortable car and people will respect you when you park such a ride.
