Tell us about yourself
I am a senior pastor and owner of Omega Healing Centre in Namasuba.
What car do you drive?
A Range Rover, model E-LP46D.
How much did it cost and where did you buy it?
I thank God that I didn’t spend any money to own this car. It is a gift that was given to me by a friend three years ago.
What is the engine size of your car?
It is a 4.6 litre engine.
What do you love about this car?
I love this car because it is powerful compared to many other cars.
What do you dislike about your car?
I used to hate its high fuel consumption but I managed to overcome the problem when a friend introduced to me a fuel saving tab that I put in the fuel tank whenever I refuel.
How much do you spend on fuel per week?
I use this car sparingly; I only drive from my home in Kitende to Namasuba where my office is. So with that, I only spend Shs150,000.
Who do you entrust your car with?
It is on rare cases that I give it to the official driver (Livingstone Ziwa). I think he drives it twice a month.
Which others cars do you have?
I have a Toyota Spacio that is easy to drive mainly during heavy traffic. It has low fuel consumption and it doesn’t raise people’s expectation towards me as is with the Range Rover.
What is your dream car?
It is a Range Rover- Evoque; such a car has enough leg room thus matching well with my height.
How have you managed to maintain the condition of your car?
I have always made sure that I use the best experienced mechanic for such vehicles just to avoid problems
In the absence of your mechanic, what do you do when your car breaks down?
The truth is that I have very little knowledge about mechanics but I can check the engine oil, change the tyres, replace the bulbs, and fill up the water and the oil.
I can also jump start my car if the battery is low and also tighten loose bolts and the nuts.
Do you wash your car or it is a job assigned to the wash bay guys?
I wash it but not always, it is only when I feel that it needs my touch. This happens once a week. Normally, when I wash my car, I use perfume to make it smell nice, I add in a layer of polish of my taste and do the carpets better.
When did you learn driving?
I learnt driving way back in 1975 while in Senior Four with my late mother’s car but later; I went to a driving school to get a driving permit in 1989. In 1994, I went to a driving school in Britain and acquired an international driving permit, so I can drive abroad.
What was your first car and what happened to it?
It was a Toyota TownAce, that I had 20 years ago. I gave it away. My hand doesn’t wear out cars, I just get tired and give them away.
Do you pick people on the way?
I enjoy giving people lifts but I have only limited it to the people I know. This is because some people turn to be bad in the process. I no longer pick strangers.
