Safety: Gear up for the car clinic

By Jude Katende

Come this Saturday, March 29, starting 2pm at Shell Ntinda opposite Hardware World in Bukoto, the first car clinic this year will be held. As witnessed at clinics held last year, Shell and Daily Monitor through this magazine, My Car, will be out to help people know more about their cars. Like at previously held clinics, we zero on a particular aspect that you may want to know more about.

This time , we shall look at servicing your car. Why is it important to take your car for servicing? What is done and what should you look out for during servicing? Some car owners leave the servicing to mechanics and never interest themselves in knowing more and this is really not good at all. You should know which type of oil is ideal for your car, how much it costs and where to get this oil.
Something as affordable as oil could make you lose your prized car if over some time you keep on using wrong oil.

These days, more cars have been made more sensitive, thanks to the embracing of new technologies and with this sensitivity often comes a heavy price. This heavy price may be in form of you wanting to use short cuts by not using the recommended high grade oil and you opt for cheaper alternatives which may work in the short term but gradually damage your engine. These and more are some of the lessons to pick from our free of charge clinic. Lots of prizes to be won including fuel.
