Vintage and Classic Auto show, which is now an annual event having made its debut four years ago, is gearing for the fifth edition this weekend.

The CBA-sponsored car showcase is scheduled for July 30 at Sheraton Kampala Hotel gardens. A day before, there will be a snail trail of participating cars around the city streets.
During a press conference last Wednesday to launch the show, Dr John B. Niwagaba, chairman, Uganda Vintage and Classic Auto Show, said this year’s show will have more than 70 vintage and classic cars and 20 motorcycles on display.

“Our intention is to grow this into an international tourism sensation to have vintage car lovers flock in from all parts of the continent and the world,” he said.

Like in the previous events, this weekend’s show will observe strict rules and regulations.

For instance, to enter a car into the competition, it should have been manufactured no less than 25 years ago. The car has to be in a decent condition and also be pleasing to the eye.

However, it is not only about cars. It will also double as a fun day for family, performance from Lillian and the Sundowners, children’s play area and a food court, among others.
