What is the right tyre pressure, engine oil for my car?

Hi Paul, I am a new driver and I recently bought a 12-year-old Toyota Corolla with a petrol engine and 120,000 kilometres on the clock. How can I know the correct tyre pressure and correct engine oil when servicing it? Michael Olet

Hello Michael, the correct tyre pressure for your Toyota is displayed on a sticker at the A pillar between the driver and right hand rear doors, just above the latch of the driver’s door.
This sticker displays the manufacturer recommended tyre sizes as well as tyre pressure. The correct engine oil is also recommended by Toyota depending on the region where the car will operate.

Preferred engine oil is determined by the grade or viscosity index, performance needs as well as age of your engine.
For instance, a good engine oil for the age and mileage of your car is a multi-grade engine oil like Shell Helix HX5 15W40, which is suitable for the temperature range and engine oil pressure needs of your Toyota in Uganda.
Helix HX5 is blended with additives that will prevent sludge and deposit build up, sheer and corrosion damage as well as give you a 5,000 kilometres service interval.

Find a good mechanic to check if the routine 100,000 kilometre service needs like the fuel filter and gearbox service. Also renew brake and engine coolant fluids.
