Hi Paul, thanks for the good advice. I always follow your articles. I have a GDi that always displays the engine check. What would be the problem? Abudul
Hello Abudul, the check engine light displaying on your instrument cluster is a notification about a fault which is affecting the car’s emission system.
This kind of fault can be caused by a breakdown of one of the following: ignition system (spark plugs, ignition coils/cables or their circuit); fuel supply system (fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel filter and fuel injectors) or the car’s engine management system (engine sensors and control module).
GDi is Mitsubishi’s gasoline direct injection, a system which relies on pressurised and efficient petrol fuel delivery via a common rail.
This economic engine system is sensitive to the quality and volume of fuel, air and efficiency of the spark. A computer diagnosis and inspection of your engine will help determine the actual cause.
