Exim bank Tanzania takes over Imperial bank

Bank of Uganda has this morning handed over the former Imperial bank to Exim, a Tanzanian based bank which recently acquired 58.6 percent ordinary share

Kampala. Bank of Uganda has this morning handed over the former Imperial bank to Exim, a Tanzanian based bank which recently acquired 58.6 percent ordinary share.
Bank of Uganda which has been managing the Imperial bank after it took over the management sold the said shares which were being held by Imperial Kenya to Exim bank.
Speaking during the handover of the bank to Exim bank, governor bank of Uganda Mr Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile said: According, Imperial Bank (Uganda) ltd has changed its name to Exim bank (Uganda) ltd. Therefore bank of Uganda has today, 7th March 2016 ended it Statutory management in imperial bank (Uganda) ltd, now Exim Bank (Uganda) ltd."
