Kampala.
The Secretary to the Treasury has ordered all government accounting officers and local governments to publish all funds allocated to different sections so that the public is aware of how much has been allocated to them.
In addition, all government offices are now required to publish names of employees occupying offices, their salaries, entitlements and allowances, as well as the payments made to suppliers of goods and services to government so that the value for money can be quantified.

While releasing the third quarter cash limits for the non-wage recurrent and development expenditure for January to March at the Ministry of Finance headquarters on Friday, Mr Keith Muhakanizi said it is illegal for accounting officers to hide information from whoever needs it because they are public officers holding resources on behalf of the public.
