Ms Rubagumya has worked for the Authority for 14 years

KAMPALA. Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has announced Ms Patience Tumusiime Rubagumya as the new Commissioner for Legal Services and Board Affairs.
Ms Rubagumya, who will also take up the responsibilities of the board secretary, replaces Ms Doris Akol who ascended to the Commissioner General position late last year.
“Uganda Revenue Authority is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Patience Tumusiime Rubagumya as the new Commissioner Legal Services and Board Affairs / Board Secretary with effect from February 1, 2015. Rubagumya has previously been working as the Assistant Commissioner Board Affairs, Policy and Rulings at URA replaces Doris Akol who is now the URA Commissioner General,” reads the statement issued by the tax body on Monday.
According to internal communiqué, Ms Rubagumya emerged successful after beating off competition from three other candidates who were interviewed for the position.
Ms Rubagumya is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (England).
She holds a Master’s of Laws in Oil and Gas from the Robert Gordon University (Scotland), an undergraduate degree in Laws and a postgraduate diploma in legal practice (Makerere University).
She also holds a postgraduate diploma in taxation and revenue administration attained at URA’s training school.
She has worked for URA in the legal services department for the last 14 years and has risen through the ranks from an assistant revenue officer to an assistant commissioner.
