Starting March, people within and outside Kampala will have another well-designed mall; Muganzirwazza Commercial Complex added on to the already existing city shopping centres, Mr Roland Sebuwufu, the Buganda Land Board head of investments has revealed.

The building that was commissioned by Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi last year has up to date had no business premise open with only internal constructions going on while different companies posters hang on its top with words ‘coming/opening soon.’

The delay to open shop for businesses has according to Mr Sebuwufu, been due to the delay to get a Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) occupation permit which is mandatory before any new building opens in Kampala.
“When the building was commissioned late last year, we had not installed firefighting systems which are compulsory before getting an occupation permit from KCCA. However these firefighting systems have now been installed. The architects have submitted an occupation license application to KCCA,” Mr Sebuwufu said, adding:
“We are hopeful that we shall have the permit before the end of this month and the complex will in March (March 1) start working. Whoever has booked space will take up their premises at that time.”
According to the KCCA website , after completing building covenant, the directorate of physical planning issues an occupation permit that enables the developer to get a full term lease of 49 years for residential or 99 years for commercial property/development.
