Barriers to fulfilling dreams

What you need to know:

  • Life alone is filled with trials. So, pursue your passion despite the challenges. Invest your money and time in what you’re passionate about and the money will follow you.
  • Write down the people you think can build you. Endeavour to meet and discuss ideas that can promote your livelihood.

A few weeks ago, many world over celebrated the World Cup which saw France winning the trophy. Fans greatly contributed to the footballers’ achievements. For the players, their passion and skill is what sells their identity.
But have you thought about how much you are gaining from your passion as an individual? Can you actually stand the test of time? Or do you easily give up and find a softer landing in formal employment for survival and fear to challenge yourself to accomplish your dreams?

For most people, the greatest obstacle to realising their dreams is fear. Fear is the state of being scared of what might happen. It is something we encounter on a frequent basis. Fear is so bad that it can make you believe you’re not good enough or you can’t make it. Some people fear their past. Having made some mistakes which could have created failure at some point doesn’t mean life will be filled with failure. It’s better to take risks than not risking at all because from every failure, lessons are picked and experience is gained, which can be a stepping stone for your next breakthrough or achievement.
Stop looking at your past failures and believing you’ll never make it. Learn to let go of the people that don’t build you and surround your life with people that make you a priority than an option. Feed your mind with positive information of what you want to become. There is power in the saying: “Garbage in, garbage out.” That is why you should choose what your mind should feed on.

Fear of letting go
One of the speakers at a forum I attended once said: “You are a product of the five people you surround yourself with.” I totally agree. It is also said: “Tell me your friend I will tell you who you are.”
If your friends are not constructive, they are likely to be the motivating factor for your failure and inability to find and pursue your passion. If all your friends don’t value saving money for investment but prefer spending on wants, and have no vision. This will set you back in many aspects of development.
Write down the people you think can build you. Endeavour to meet and discuss ideas that can promote your livelihood.

Life alone is filled with trials. So, pursue your passion despite the challenges. Invest your money and time in what you’re passionate about and the money will follow you.
