Construction firm joins top global companies

Kampala- Construction firm, Shikun & Binui (SBI holdings), has been ranked among the top 200 construction companies in the world, a move officials attributed to quality services.
According to the International Construction magazine, Shikun & Binui- Israel, a mother company of SBI International Holdings AG (Uganda), scooped the 196th position among the 200 most eligible construction companies with high revenue turnovers and profitability.
The ranking brings Shikun & Binui, Israel as a new comer into the bracket of companies with turnover in billions of dollars annually, which have scored changes in the global economic and financial climate in 2012.
The company’s turnover was estimated at $1,573 billion.
Mr Yaron Dunsky, the managing director of SBI International Holdings AG (Uganda), attributed the success to their experience of more than 50 years in the industry in roads construction, bridges, railway, buildings, hydroelectric dams, real estate and Turnkey projects.
The company that has been at the helm of the construction industry in Uganda since 1950s has constructed many roads in Uganda such as: Kabale-Kisoro/Bunagana, Jinja-Bugiri, Malaba- Busia/Bugiri, Kampala-Masaka and Masaka-Mbarara-Katuna roads, among others.
