Minister of Information Computing and Technology (ICT) Frank Tumwebaze hands over a Television to one of the beneficiaries.

NAKASEKE.
Star Times, a digital Pay TV provider in Uganda has offered free digital decoders and accessories to residents of Kapeeka - Nakaseke, in a move that targets strengthening digital migration.
“Our intention is to help all Ugandans have access to Pay TV services,” Star Times Chief Excecutive Officer (CEO) Andy Wang, explained their role as the country continues phasing out analogue services under the guidance of Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).
“As the most affordable player in the market, we provide products that fit within the earnings of our subscribers and our team is always searching for problems that can be addressed in the industry,” Wang added.
Meanwhile, Minister of Information Computing and Technology (ICT) Frank Tumwebaze, believes Pay TV providers can fix the missing gaps in e-learning. Tumwebaze’s remarks were sparked off by the fact that Star Times has played a key role in making sure that schools can get decoders for students.
“We should make sure that schools get the best content that can facilitate learning. Empowering e-learning narrows the gaps between the rural and urban schools in Uganda,” Tumwebaze added.
