A new online tax payment solution that enables taxpayers to use their VISA, Mastercard and MTN mobile money to pay tax has been launched.
Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) in partnership with Stanbic Bank will now enable its clients to comply with their obligations by logging onto the URA website and completing payment after entering the relevant VISA/Mastercard details or MTN mobile money account.
The payment solution will reduce time and unnecessary costs in payment activities according to URA.

“URA continuously strives for process improvements by putting in place mechanisms that will stimulate compliance by leveraging the appropriate technology to reduce time and cost of doing business,” Acting Commissioner General Patrick Mukiibi said during the launch at URA head office in Nakawa, Kampala.
