The corset belt

This waist-defining accessory was first seen on Kim Kardashian last year, when the reality TV star used it to cinch her waist. Then it became her most favourite style accessory, appearing on almost all her outfits styled in a number of ways.

A corset defines your femininity by creating an hourglass figure. It can be worn over a shirt or dress to make an outfit look interesting.

Use it to define your curves, or create an illusion of them in case you are not blessed with an hourglass shape.
It can be either be a full on corset or a waist band with laces that is worn as a belt.

Style guide

- Since you are wearing the corset the wrong way albeit intentionally, it’s very easy to look tacky and out of place. To make it a lot less tricky, think of it as an accessory, something that’s an extension of your outfit.
- Make it the focal point of your outfit. Coordinate everything else you wear with it.
- Don’t just wear any corset, choose one that matches your outfit, in colour and detail.
- The smartest styling trick is matching the colour of the corset with that of your shoes or bag.
- To achieve a full blown sexy look, a corset top can be worn with just a pair of high-waist trousers and pumps.
- If you are afraid of baring it all, wear your corset over a top, which can be a blouse, shirt or even a t-shirt. The corset over t-shirt look is a good example of where sexy meets casual.
- Add edge with a corset belt.
- You could as well layer the corset under a jacket or coat.
- Try to not make it complicated. Simple is everything here.
