Decor: Setting up for the new year

So, the festivities are over and most of us are now getting back into our routines picking up from where we left off.
At this time of year, new goals are being set or have been set; there is a lot of energy in the air thus creating the need to start clean and fresh by re-arranging the flower garden and also our interior spaces.
The decorations have been pulled down the tree is out leaving the space feeling rather bare and so the question that hangs above our heads is; now what! So let us go through some quick, easy cost effective ways we can begin with to transform our spaces;

Re organise your furniture
Seems easy isn’t? But do you know how many people let the socket location dictate the entire set up of a space? ( I can almost see you guilty ones smiling to yourselves) it seems obvious that wherever the socket is that’s where the entertainment centre is going to be placed i.e. television, music system, gaming console, DVD player... then the furniture will be placed all around for watching comfort. Not necessarily so!
There is a cute tiny invention called cable clips, once you have re-arranged your entertainment unit and it is miles away from the power point drag the cables along the skirting to the sockets held by the cable pins so that the wires are not all over the place creating a shabby look.

Change wall accessories
Why not try and do an over haul of all your wall accessories except of course for the ones that are very sentimental to you (those you can move to another wall perhaps the corridor and bring them out next year). You don’t have to do it immediately just keep the walls bare for a while as you think of what would be appropriate to go on them.
These few tips put into action will guarantee the beginning of a fresh start!
