Doorbell alert

What you need to know:

  • Doorbells can be a bit of a nuisance sometimes depending on their location.
  • Wireless doorbells are quite handy when one has to move and install a doorbell or have repairs done in comparison to the wired one which would mean that walls would have to be drilled.

In principle, most people will give you a call first before they come over while others still choose the surprise method of just showing up. Whichever option one takes, they will have to alert you of their presence at your door and a doorbell is the perfect facility for announcing guests as opposed to banging on the door.
Doorbells work well for people who live in big houses, play areas or homes with young children whose activities would make it hard to hear a knock at the door.

There are different types of doorbells.
Wired. These are frequently used in residential homes. They are wired to the home’s electrical system. The downside to this method is that when comes to repairs, it is rather challenging.

Wireless. These use radio waves to connect the transmitter switch to the bell making it unnecessary to physically wire the place up.
Wireless doorbells are quite handy when one has to move and install a doorbell or have repairs done in comparison to the wired one which would mean that walls would have to be drilled. With this system, multiple units can be set all around the home to improve hearing and they are easy to install.

Smart doorbells. These connect to the homes’ internet connection and one can access them through their smart phone, also the homeowner is able to receive alerts on their phone every time the doorbell is pushed.
Since they have cameras and motion sensors attached to them, it is easy to view the person ringing your doorbell. That way, you are able to know who you are going to meet at the door.

A good doorbell is one which has good sound range with a ring tone that is not too loud (and annoying) or too low that one cannot hear it! One can pick from a variety of sounds ranging from a favourite song up loaded from your phone to animal sounds or even your own voice.

Doorbells also work for the hearing impaired. The bell for those with impairment features a flashlight
