Andrew
I think there is a very big misconception of this day by many women. Valentine’s Day does not have to be just about romantic love. It can be about celebrating the love of life, the love of self, the love of the higher power, the love of my community...it can be anything I wish! Why some women think it is about them and only them just perturbs me. You are not in this relationship alone! I think the whole fuss about the day is just exaggerated by some of them. Why does she, all of a sudden, demand for extra attention, chocolates and some dead roses…and what is all this car door opening madness?!

For those women who stress their lovers about this day on how they expect this and that, you need to realise one thing. If your man waits for just this day to express his affection for you, you can bet shortly after that day, he will be back on his usual “I don’t care mode”! It should be Valentine’s day everyday. And if you live together, how about you spend this money on things that can help both of you around the house....like bills, new furniture?! Am just saying... As for the men who go out of their way and even borrow money to spend on their Valentines, I have no words!

Benjie
I think Valentine’s Day is the most useless and commercially stupid day there is. I do not need a day to buy roses or take out a girl I love. But I know that it is a big deal for girls, so, I guess I have to conform. Lucky for me, it has never come when I’m in a serious relationship, so, I have never had to deal with that silly pressure.

Jamie
I do not hate Valentines; I just do not spend time worrying about it. In fact, Valentines Day is usually not on the tables since I have an internal clock that tells me it is time to take her out. I do not have to wait for calendar dates.

Eugene Mugisha
I do not mind Valentine’s Day. I suspect there is a romantic hidden deep inside me who understands the need for it, but that is where it ends. I have never had a girl put me on gunpoint before for Valentine’s, perhaps because I scare them off... haha
