Angela Katatumba

What you need to know:

My style. Singer Angela Katatumba shares her beauty routine and secrets to a flawless skin with Edgar R. Batte.

Angela Katatumba is an artiste and social activist for climate change. She is beautiful and to stay that way, she has turned to her mother for some beauty tips. She shares her beauty tricks.

What keeps you beautiful?
My number one beauty secret is my mother, Gertrude Katatumba, who is a highly qualified British trained beautician. From childhood, she has guided me on the necessity of good grooming, maintaining my skin and weight.
She taught me to how cleanse, tone and moisturise daily. She also taught me to do regular facials, massages, pedicures and manicures. I do all this religiously at her beauty shop in Kabalagala.
My mother insists that I drink a lot of water and exercise on a daily basis, which is where my struggle lies but I am doing better in this department. She also taught me to do my make-up and also guided me on my fashion sense. Her biggest tip is less is more.

Where do you buy your clothes?
I buy abroad: USA, UK, Dubai, Mexico, Turkey, Austria and elsewhere.

Do you care for fashion labels?
No, I do not care for fashion labels as long as the clothes are of great quality.

Do you follow particular trends?
No I never follow trends. I am a trendsetter.

What kind of jewellery do you wear, and why?
I love genuine gold, silver and diamond jewellery, but I also like costume jewellery because they have a variety of fun pieces.

What is your favourite lipstick colour and why? Where do you buy it?
I use only MAC lipstick products which I buy abroad. I like most of their colours except the matte products.
