Not too small to be hot

Phionah Hope Nampeera, according to her friend, Miriam Athieno, thinks she is too small to be smart. But Athieno, who nominated Nampeera for the makeover, sees and believes in her friend’s outer beauty as much as her inner beauty.

Athieno trusted Full Woman to show Nampeera just how beautiful she truely is, and the kinds of clothes she should wear for her body type going forward.

Annet Kiconco of Uzuri Fashion House selected the outfits. About her experience dressing up Nampeera, she says;
“Nampeera revealed to me that she loves wearing official outfits. So I picked for her the dotted black and white outfit and the brown one with a belt. “The black dinner dress is something she can wear for special occasions such as parties.

Dressing Nampeera was not easy because of her small size. In fact, she tried on a couple before we could settle for the three proper-fitting dresses.”

The makeup
Paramour Cosmetics’ Racheal Nabuduwa, did Nampeera’s makeup. “It was easy to work Nampeera’s face because her skin is good. The emphasis of her makeup was the deep red and purple lipstick. I used dry lipstick whose advantage is that it lasts longer,” says Nabuduwa.

Dressing a petit body
Olivia Nanfuka, a designer and stylist, tips:
Jeans, jackets and sweaters are great as they add body. For instance, if one is wearing a vest top over a fitting skirt, a jacket would be a great accessory to add.

Dark colours such as black are terrible. People associate them with being gloomy and ill. For a petite body, bright colours are key. Avoid pastels which are washed out and will therefore appear dull and gloomy on a small body.
High waist jeans or pants will only make you look like you will fall from the wind any moment.
Peplum and round dresses are ideal for a petite body as they are known to also add a bit of body.

Nampeera’s makeover experience

“I was preparing to take a shower when you called about a week ago. I remember sitting down, very nervous, and wondering whether what you had told me about a makeover was true or false. I only managed to relax when you said you would call me back with details.

I only truely believed from the second phone call that I was getting a makeover. Miriam, my friend one day told me that she had sent a nomination to Full Woman nominating me for a makeover. She kept asking if anyone had called to give me any update and my answer was always “not yet.” When I finally gave her the news that you had called, he was very happy and excited. She encouraged me to go for it.

The experience was pleasant. It was nice having someone work on my face since I normally apply my own makeup. I saw a different side of me when the Paramour lady worked on my face. Her makeup was stronger and lovelier than what I usually put on my face.

My favourite outfit of the three was the brown one with a belt because it looked official and presentable. By the way, those are the kind of outfits I love wearing. The black dress was also cute. It is something I would wear to a party.
Given another opportunity, I would definitely do this again. The experience was worthwhile.”
