The drama series Breaking Bad

Actually, Breaking Bad is so yesteryear; it was the series to watch last, not this, year. However, winning the ultimate award for Outstanding Drama Series last week at the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony brought this intriguing crime drama back to mind.

Now, I have watched series and I have some favourites-Game of Thrones and House of Cards- but none of these is as different and unpredictable as Breaking Bad. In fact, it was reported as one of the greatest television series of all time. By its finale last year in September, Breaking Bad was among the most-watched cable shows on American television. The hype on social media here was also prove of its popularity.

The plot
Revolving around a chemistry teacher who turns to making and selling drugs, Breaking Bad provides a unique and unpredictable story line where, as the creator puts it, the protagonist turns antagonist.

I must warn you though that the beginning is a bit slow. In fact, the whole series takes a slow but steady pace. Once you understand and begin to follow the storyline, you get hooked.

And to think the creator planned to kill Jesse Pinkman off in season one! You will see what I’m saying when you start watching. Prepare also for the best ending to a series you have ever seen.
