A pre-wedding photo shoot involves taking professional photos of the couple before the wedding date. For the shoot, the couple will dress elegantly and pose as the photographer snaps away. Usually, it is just the love birds and no entourage.

Why pre-wedding shoots are popular
Giulio Molfese, a fashion photographer says pre-wedding photo-shoots are becoming common because the shoot has a more relaxed feel to it and couples tend to enjoy the experience more than on the wedding day.

“It is easy to focus on shooting pre-wedding photos than those on the actual wedding day where every activity is being rushed and there is a lot more stress and things to think about,” Molfese says.
Similarly, Alex Edward Musiitwa of Alexander Photography says, the pre-wedding photo-shoot serves as an experimental session before the big day.

“It is like testing before the big day. The photo shoots enables couples to examine a number of things. For instance, the bride can establish whether her makeup will be appropriate for the wedding,” Musiitwa says.
It is also another way for couples to get to know their photographers better.

“It is a great opportunity for the clients to interact and exchange ideas with the photographer so that when the official day finally arrives, he will know what to do rather than gamble,” he adds.

Couples who cannot afford this much can always opt for photographers who charge less. There are photographers who charge Shs100, 000 for a shoot.

Why the pre-wedding shoot?
-A pre-wedding photo-shoot is a backup plan in case the wedding photos do not come out great,” says Charlotte Kiryowa who got married in 2012.
- The pre-wedding photo shoot captures particular intimate moments which would not be possible on the wedding day, which is usually very formal.

-The other reason why some couples commission pre-wedding shoots is to get good images which can be used when announcing their upcoming wedding nuptials and which can be placed on invitation cards or even on different social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
