Get Luscious hair with these steps

When it comes to taking care and maintaining our hair, a lot of patience and hard work is needed. One of the most important things to note is when and how often we should wash our hair, given that it is constantly being oiled, yet at the same time being exposed to dust and heat.

According to Abbas Mukasa, a hair dresser at Montana Beauty Parlour, the frequency with which we wash our hair depends on whether it is treated or natural. He advises that if one has natural hair which is short, washing it daily is recommended.

Dr Sarah Nsibirwa, from International Hospital Kampala, points out that since the skin produces oils every day, these oils are bound to attract dust, and therefore the more reason to have one’s hair washed daily. She further explains that having dead skin necessitates washing the scalp every day.

In case a person has treated hair, Mukasa recommends washing at least once every two weeks with shampoo and a conditioner. Mukasa says washing treated hair daily exposes it to weakness and therefore breakage. Eat healthy and give your hair the right amount of vitamins. Since hair is made of proteins, ensure that you eat a balanced diet rich in protein, whole grains, fruits and vegetables.

Do not over brush your hair. Brushing your hair stimulates the follicles which promote growth, but brushing too much and too often will cause damage to hair strands that results in breakage.
Trim your hair regularly to get rid of the split ends.
