Raising prostrate cancer awareness among men
Posted Thursday, November 8 2012 at 00:00
In Summary
Despite the misconception that prostrate cancer only affects elderly men, medical evidence shows that any male is at risk if he is above the age of 40 and has had a family member who has had the cancer before.
Free Prostate Cancer Screenings are on every Wednesday at Victoria Healthcare Centre and Uganda Cancer Institute.
However, one must make an appointment by calling the ntelephone umber 041-7727100.
In order to commemorate The Prostate cancer Awareness campaign this month, all men are encouraged to buy a Movember T-shirt.
It is available from any of the six organisations supporting the initiative and put it on every Friday.
Alternatively, one could purchase a purple ribbon, from any of the six organisations and wear it every day in November.
