My doctor did a stool test and found I still have Helicobacter induced peptic ulcers, despite using the heligo kit. What can I do?

Dear Jones,
Heligo kit (Clarithromycin, Tinidazole and lansoprazole) is one combination treatment for Helicobacter induced peptic ulcers. However, many people have abused it because they take it for any painful condition of the stomach even when it is not due to the germ. When proper diagnosis of peptic ulcers is done, majority of people respond well to the kit treatment.

In cases where poor compliance and resistance to treatment occurs, doctors may change treatment according to culture and sensitivity results after an endoscopy or may use a combination treatment of tetracycline, or Amoxycillin. Increasingly however ESOSE kit (Esomeprazole, Levofloxacin, Amoxycillin) is being given for resistant ulcers though it is limited by its many side effects.

Many people said to be resistant to treatment however may have other problems (such as pancreatic cancer or stomach cancer), which may be confused with peptic ulcers. That said, there are many types of substandard drugs which may not cure the ulcers and may in fact lead to the germ getting resistant to even the appropriate drugs.
