What you need to know:

Keeping fit is for sure one of the top items of most people’s New Year resolutions. However, this might be hard to achieve if you have to keep making trips to the gym. So here is how you can setup your own home gym.

Fitness has become so popular today. However, you may not always have the money to spare for gym every now and again, so how about you bring that gym close to you? In your house.
What first comes to mind is whether you will be able to afford this. And yes, you may not. But you don’t need a state of the art gym. You only need a few, pocket friendly equipment to kick off.
“There are people that build houses and include a gym inside, which is a good thing. And there are those of us who are sports fanatics. We don’t care whether there is big space or not. I can still train in that small space and reach my goals.” Ivan Evans Twinomujuni, 28, narrates how he started a gym in his already available space at home.

Location
However, you don’t have to wait till you build that special room for exercising. You just have to look at how best to utilise that empty corner or space in your seating room, bedroom or any other room for your exercising. You may as well have to move things here and there to create space for a few, gym equipment.
However, be sure not to mess up the face of your room. So be sure to do it beautifully so that your gym blends in perfectly with the already existing environment. This is what makes utilising that space in your corner the best idea. You can as well go an extra mile of giving it a bold different colour that either compliments or contrasts the colour of your room, to make your gym stand out, in an amazing way.
But in cases where you have very limited space, Twinomujuni advises that, “If your sitting room has a table and a couch, and you have no space left, just remove the table, push the couch aside and exercise in that small space created. After, put the table and the couch back in position, and keep your equipment away.”
Bottom line is, be creative with your arrangement. You are the best person to choose where to create your gym, according to the space you have. Be neat while handling your equipment so that it is not scattered all over the place, especially if you have limited space, so that your room doesn’t look cluttered. You don’t have to start out big, if you can’t afford to.
You just need to start with a few small equipment, and gradually add to your collection. Over time, who knows whether your gym will outgrow the available space, so you can move it to an independent room?
This however is done out of passion to exercise and keep fit. It will require you to make a little investment, but in the end, you will realise there is a lot you are saving.

Keep it simple: You do not need to worry about space for your simple gym.
All you need are a two or three equipments that can fit either in your kitchen, sitting room or bedroom. However, for the sake of balancing, you need to make sure that your equipment has the same colour as the other items in the room. This is possible because the equipment comes in different hues.

Simple equipment to have
These will largely be determined by the kinds of exercise an individual decides to take. Or those required for their physical wellbeing, as James Tumwine, of BActive Health and Fitness Clubs advises:
A rope, for skipping, five or more Kilogramme dumbbells for lifting. A yoga mat, for those who enjoy doing yoga and meditation, an abs roller wheel, a Swiss ball for high knees up exercises, magic circle Pilates to do different exercises for example legs and stretching, quick ladders for athletes to work on their speed. A weighing scale for continued weight measuring. You could also invest in a static bicycle and a treadmill, especially if you have enough space.
