Furniture plays a big role in filling up space in the house and creating beauty. It has the ability to make your house stunning or untidy with no breathing space depending on how you use it.
Therefore, to have a well-spaced house, you need to plan well for the furniture you put in your house. Multipurpose furniture simply means having one furniture do more than two functions. Do not clutter your house with furniture yet you can use one single furniture to do more than three functions and save you space and money. Here are some of the different ways you can have your house spaced with multipurpose furniture.

Sitting room

For those that would loveto watch TV in the bedroom, buy a sofa that can turn into a bed so that when you feel like sleeping, you turn it into a bed and sleep.

The dining room

Since it’s a place we have our meals from, it has to be comfortable. So, instead of having all sorts of furniture that fill it up, we can as well choose one or two pieces of furniture that will cater for the entire things in it.
Menon says that you can have dining chairs that can be adjusted.
“There are dining chairs that come in four seaters but can be adjusted to six seaters or six seater that can be adjusted to eight.” He says
He notes that this will help you save space in the times you are few people at home and can be adjusted if you have visitors. Other than having a lot of furniture in your house, you will have one that is adjustable.

The kitchen
It can be uncomfortable working in a cluttered kitchen. Being the centre of most house chores, these could cause accidents, add more work since you have to clean many things at once. But Menon says Kitchens have the most multipurpose furniture than any room in your house. He cites kitchen cupboards as one of those that can store almost everything including saucepans.

Bed room
This is the place where we relax our minds and so, the room should have a relax atmosphere. No room needs more space than the bedroom, and just like any other room it has a lot of multipurpose furniture.
Asiimwe says you need a bed that can act as a shelf, have big drawers where you can keep your clothes and shoes instead of buying wardrobes for them.

Children’s room
Asiimwe says children need to have less furniture in their room so as to have space for playing. Good double decker beds that have drawers that are made with stairs can keep things such as books and other materials. There are also reading tables that as well have drawers that can be used for keeping their school items.
