AIESEC holds conference

The students will get internship opportunities in the East African countries which will allow them to learn the work ethics of other countries across the region.
As East Africa moves towards the east African integration, student bodies like AIESEC which provide students with opportunities to do internships in different countries will hold its 7th annual pioneer conference in Nairobi Kenya. Different universities have sent students who will join other students from across in the region in.
The 7th East African Pioneers Congress is a five-day conference that takes place from October 30 to November 3, to be held in Multi Media Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. The conference seeks to create a rigorous learning environment through dialogue and exchange sessions on leadership development and collaboration.
The conference which is going to be held under the theme “Engaging Youth to Empower East Africa”
Tom Kalyesubula, the president of AIESEC in Uganda, says the main idea behind the conference is leadership development and betterment of the exchange collaboration in the region. He says as we move towards the East African integration, the conference will broaden the students understanding of the region and also help them to compete favorably in the job market.
Different universities are sending student representatives who will look out for opportunities and also be mentored by different professionals.
Milton Tweheyo, the Dean of Students at Uganda Christian University, says the programme is academic, social and helps the students to think. He also added that the students will get more exposure.
