Have you ever been at a hangout and thought to yourself, today I’m going to show women I’m the best guy around? Women told us 10 things that men do that turn them off. If you learn these inside and out, you will be a favourite.

1. Lying
If she cannot trust you, there is no reason for her to stick around. Although most women like that bad boy, being a liar is not appealing. “I want to be able to count on you,” says Lilian Nalugode, a seamstress. Lack of trust will always be an issue. “Telling me you are hanging out with your friends even though you are not, and telling me a weird compliment is a deal breaker.” I prefer truth that hurts to white lies.

2. Bad breath
You kill the mood by trying to whisper sweet nothings into her ear because your breath smells like rat kill. Bob Opio, a bar patron says, “Whiskey and beer make one’s breath terrible, try vodka. Also, “brush your teeth, floss, and use mouthwash. Grab some gum and start the “sweet” whispers.

3. Naughty friends
Sooner or later, she will have to meet your friends. Zurah Namakula, a social worker believes, if your friends are loud, impolite, and obnoxious, chances are that you are the bird of a feather. “We all have at least one naughty friend who cracks jokes but he should not be your companion. Such friends says much about you.”

4. Cursing
A man who is constantly cursing, Stella Atiku, 30, says, makes her think you are uneducated and have no manners.
“And who do you think she wants you to meet in future that might require you to be polite...her family,” Atiku says, “Swearing often is as good as being vulgar, and the only thing I can feel like around such a person is wash your mouth with disinfectant.

5.perfume swimmer
Cologne is a great idea when used in moderation, and a little bit goes a long way. Taking a bath in cologne is not the best way to attract women.
“Just because you can’t smell it on yourself, does not mean she cannot. Try going easy on that body spray, she will thank you for it,” Karemire explains.

6. Negativity
Nobody wants to date a pessimist, being positive and having a good outlook on life is a great way to attract women.
“Being mean is a put off and so is being a nag. Women want a man who is confident and who will be enjoyable to be around, plain and simple,”says Anne Karemire, a psychologist.

7. Pick-up lines
Gordon Mwesigye, a socialite feels pickup lines can be good for a laugh, and a great way to break the ice but , most lines are not original. If you start the conversation by asking her if she “comes here often” there’s a good chance she will roll her eyes and walk away to find someone more interesting to talk to.

8. A bluetooth earpiece
Yes, men love gadgets and high tech. However, a bluetooth earpiece can only look appropriate if you are trying to be a safe driver. May be keep it in the car. “You might think that having an earpiece makes you look as important as a classy business man, but I could mistake you for a phone salesman at a hangout,” says Jacintha Opio, a communications specialist adding, if you need to make a call, use your phone.

9. Dancing dirty
Women love a man who can dance, but not one who sneaks up behind you on the dance floor and attempts to start a rubadubbing session without their consent.
For Rita Namaganda, 29, rather than stealthily approaching her, try smiling and asking for a dance. “You might get turned down, but at least you will not have other women looking at you and thinking you are Mr Creepy.”

10. Getting too drunk
Practise a little self-control when going out to meet women. Julian Bebwa, a banker, says, “Being drunk and slurring your words is not good for anyone.” She prefers a confident, not loud and charming man. With women, you have to keep it classy and go easy.
