Lukaaya is famous for its “muchomo” especially the goat’s meat and chicken roasts. I yearn for it every time I am travelling to the village. My uncle knows a vendor who serves us the best muchomo with the right portions of salt.

If I could, I would travel all the way to Masaka just to have a taste. I must say that we were negative about one of the eateries as it was in an incomplete building not until one lady said, “ wait until you have tasted the man’s food, you will forget the incomplete building.” Patiently we waited for the food to get ready as we sipped sodas. After a short while, the food arrived.

It was not fried, but rather boiled. Eating Luwombo, a delicacy among the Baganda, I appreciated the skill of the cook. Mine was goat Luwombo with matooke, posho, rice, yam and I think cassava. A forkful made me forget about the incomplete building. I only remember one outstanding feature that, this place was next to the Masaka branch of Bank of Africa.
