Five years ago, saw the advent of Le Piato restaurant along Lumumba Avenue and as they say, nothing succeeds like success and late last month saw the unveiling of Karveli Bread and more.

Comparison
No marks for guessing who is behind this incredibly well-designed and conceived upmarket resto; yes, you guessed right the folks who gave us Le Piato but wisely not a copycat but rather can best be described as in the same genre but with some distinct features while retaining the same assured standard to which we have been accustomed.

Louis Untermeyer, the American poet, anthologist, critic and editor who died in 1977 wrote thus:
“Why has our poetry eschewed
The rapture and response of food?
What hymns are sung, what praises said
To home-made miracles of bread?”
Even more constructive than verification, perhaps, is the newly opened Karveli bread and more that has the best home-made bread baked anywhere in the land, and as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Bread is the big deal
Needless to say, and for us bread lovers, Karveli has long been what we have been missing and wanting and just what the doctor ordered! And more.
Karveli has been three years in the making and built entirely from scratch it is a monumental tour de force.
Bread, pastries, gelato ice cream and a modest offering of Italian and Continental fare all to be had in an idyllic and sublime setting with caring service.
