Mosha’s sense of style

Danze Mosha Muyanja believes every stylish man should own a pair of loafers

MY STYLE. Good style and Danze Mosha Muyanja go hand in hand. The former Fashionista host kept many of his viewers hooked with his distinguished style and knowledge. Mosha, a former TV personality, talked to Gloria Haguma about his style.

1. What is fashion to you?
A form of expression. What you wear says a lot about you. The way you present yourself could score you a new job or date with that gorgeous girl.

2. During your time on TV, did you have a stylist?
Yes, Brian Ahumuza was my stylist. We clashed a few times as he wanted me to venture in more edgy silhouettes on days I wanted to keep it safe. I learnt a few tricks. But, my ultimate stylist will always be my mum. She introduced me to fashion as a child and to date if she does not approve of my outfit, I abide.

3. Describe your style.
My style is urban-ghetto- chic. I play with versatile fashion pieces. Urban outfit is relevant for this era and weather.

4. What is your grooming routine?
While in Uganda I used to have my hair and beard trimmed every two weeks at Shs5,000. Now I take three weeks and pay $20 in Toronto. I shave everywhere else every month.
5. Ever made a fashion blunder?
My suit at the Rated Next Grand Finale. A beautiful ensemble which turned out a bit too much for a show host.

8. Which colours work for you?
Black, white, cream and brown. These are timeless and they create effortlessly chic outfits.

9. Three things in your wardrobe you can never let go of?
A brilliant hat, a versatile back pack and a cool pair of sneakers.

10. What is your worst buy?
I bought harem joggers from Zara. They are ugly and make me look like a dwarf. They sit in a dark corner in my closet.

11. What do you think of armpit hair?
Armpit hair is sexy! It is brilliant only if you keep it clean and wear the proper deodorant. A lot of hair under the pits means you sweat more (wet pit stains) and and you could stink. For intimacy reasons, however, let that hair grow, I think girls love it.

12. What is your take on a big beard?
It has always been a huge trend but has a lot to do with genes. If you have a hairy face and have an ability to grow a full beard, do so. Always wash it, trim it, oil it and brush it. If you do not have a beard, embrace your face do not use chemicals!

Trends men should let go of

Box shoes and the oversize suits. That look is tired. Invest in a nice pair of loafers and a well-tailored suit. Also remember to accessorise your look with at least a bow tie, tie pins or collar clips.
Tight pants matched with tight T-shirts is so 2008. Embrace the normal T-shirts to let your body breathe.
