Former Cranes defender seeks further help

KAMPALA.

Since being diagnosed with what he described as tuberculosis two years ago, former Cranes defender Ausi Kaaya has sought various ways to help foot his medical bills since suffering a relapse.
This included a fundraising drive that involved former clubs KCCA and Police.
Last month, another fundraiser was held at Barbados Hotel, that according to organiser Mathias Lukwago, helped bring the total amount collected to Shs6m from the Shs17m targeted.
Yesterday, despite appearing to be in worse physical shape, he helped launch another drive with partnership with Sports Fan Magazine (a local football magazine).
The magazine came up with a new initiative where they are offering 2,000 copies that will be sold off with proceeds from the sales going in ‘The Save Kaaya’ treasury.
In a brief statement at a press conference held at Landstar hotel Kaaya, thanked all who have come out to help him.
Lukwago, who is contributing to the day-to-day survival of Kaaya said more assistance is need.
