A score to settle

Lukaku will be hoping to be on the score sheet as his Everton side faces table leaders Man City.

What you need to know:

Everton’s Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has a chance to prove wrong his former manager Jose Mourinho that he is as lethal as the best when he plays against Chelsea today.

Coming into this season, Chelsea fans believed that Romelu Lukaku would finally don a blue shirt in London and play for them in the Premier League, but much to their disbelief Jose Mourinho saw Lukaku surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

The problem Jose now faces is that Lukaku has the ability to embarrass him when Chelsea face Everton this evening.

At the age of 21, Romelu has years to look forward to and improve on the already promising talent that he has.

Over the past two seasons, Lukaku has scored 32 goals in just 66 Premier League appearances which is a very impressive record for a player in his very early twenties. With this record was Jose right to sell him to a very competitive League team in Everton?

Earlier this summer, the previously dreadlocked forward was named in the Belgium national team for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil where he scored the eventual winner against the United States to claim his first World Cup goal.

With his record speaking for itself, hasn’t Jose made a mistake? Could this be another one of Jose’s ego bursts where he refuses to be wrong? Or is it a tactical move?

Either way Lukaku would have been more than capable of leading the Chelsea attack this season, but Mourinho saw otherwise.
