Arsenal to play in Uefa Europa League

In future years, this season is bound to be a reference point for competition. Arsenal have put up their traditional strong home straight run. Sadly it is has come a few games too late. I am tipping Gunners sharp shooters Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to make mince meat of the Toffees but Champions League qualification will elude them. The Europa League awaits.

Liverpool 2 Boro 0

Jurgen Klopp has promised to ensure Liverpool don’t do anything silly in their final game at home to relegated Boro. Daniel Sturridge’s return from injury and Phillipe Coutinho’s good form more than compensate for the absence of African hotshot Sadio Mane. Liverpool equipped to handle any nervousness that may threaten an ‘easy’ win.

Hull City 0 Tottenham 2

Despite losing out on the title, this has been a season of many firsts for Tottenham. A record points haul portends another title tilt next year. Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Erikssen will pile misery on the demoted Tigers. Nothing is to stop Spurs from cantering home.

Chelsea 3 Sunderland 0

Having already garnered a phenomenal points haul, champions elect Chelsea coach Antonio Conte must juggle the squad to ensure players remain fresh for next weekend’s FA Cup final with Arsenal. Sunderland will be a nuisance but there can only be one winner. Expect John Terry, Nathaniel Chalobah, and Michy Batshuayi to get a run out.

Leicester 2 Bournemouth 1

Imperious home form has provided the bedrock for Leicester’s revival under Craig Shakespeare. I expect the attacking exuberance of Junior Stanislas and Joshua King to test the Foxes resolve but I don’t see the Cherries triumphing. Jamie Vardy, Wilfred Ndidi and Riyad Mahrez are all performing at near capacity. Thrilling home win!

Swansea 1 West Brom 1

Tony Pulls’ Brummies have picked up just a solo point in their last six fixtures. This is wretched form. However, they lost four of those games 0-1. So it’s not like they are being run over. It goes without saying Swansea’s preparations have been a bit scattered by their survival celebrations. This is a cast iron stalemate.

Burnley 2 West Ham 1

I was not impressed by West Ham’s application in their 0-4 capitulation to Liverpool. On the other hand, Burnley were unlucky to leave the Vitality Stadium empty handed. I’m inclined to tip Sean Dyche’s side to pip West Ham.

Man Utd 1 C. Palace 1

Jose Mourinho has prioritised Wednesday’s Europa League final clash with Ajax Amsterdam. I can see him fielding the same reserves that fell 1-2 at White Hart Lane. With Crystal Palace firing on all cylinders, I anticipate another frustrating home draw for stalemate masters Man United. It’s a brave call but I feel it’s a genuine possibility.

Southampton 2 Stoke 1

Anyone suggesting Claude Puel isn’t punching his weight as Southampton manager must be nuts. I feel he has done as well as his possibly can. Manolo Gabbiadini and Shane Long are poised to end their goal drought against a Stoke City side operating in second gear.

Watford 1 Man City 3

Pep Guardiola’s moneybags have improved greatly during the last few months courtesy of less rotation and the tremendous form of Leroy Sane. Guardiola has had a tough opening season but we all know he’s a quick learner. His handling of teenage prodigy Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero will determine his future at the Etihad.
