Beyagira hopes he can catch F1 fever, finally

It was a case of justice prevailing when Buganda Kingdom Third Deputy Prime Minister Apollo Makubuya picked Leo Beyagira’s coupon as the fourth winner in the City Tyres – Pirelli Promotion of a ticket to the Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 27.
The 50-year-old Global Coaches director is one of the biggest customers of City Tyres. “I am extremely happy. I buy at least 100 ordinary, 30 of them Pirelli tyres to be used on the front wheels of my buses because they’re durable,” disclosed Beyagira when SCORE asked him how many tyres he had bought to enter the draw. A bus tyre is estimated at Shs1.8m.
Anticipated experience
And now the man who only played lawn tennis while at Ibanda Secondary School (1971-74), hopes he can catch the Formula One fever, finally. “Many of my drivers like and follow those little cars (F1),” said the father of six (two boys and four girls).
“I have been to Dubai like 100 times but never been to Abu Dhabi. I have heard that it is a very beautiful place and the race track is one of the biggest in the world. Hopefully when I go, I will eventually fall in love with the sport. I am looking forward to the trip and maybe hopefully I will take my wife along.”
Beyagira follows Epsilon site supervisor Sowedi Eriasa Kategano, Isaac Lubega and urban planner Wilson Awuzu on the list of individuals that will be treated to a fully-paid trip to the Middle East and VIP treatment at Yas Marina circuit.
