It is not usual that any motocross event, unlike a motor rallying one, is organised in northern Uganda for fans to get a glimpse of the fast-moving automobiles. Most events have been staged in the central and western parts of Uganda.
However, two experienced motocross riders Michael Ntairo and Ahmed Tamale, impressed crowds in Gulu, Arua, and Lira during the Mountain Dew Xperience Tour activations that ended last Saturday.
The two riders did extreme stunts like jumps, free-styling, spins, short races and two-wheelies, much to the excitement of the thousands of people that had turned up at the various venues in the region. Ntairo missed the Eastern Tour as he had to take time off to prepare for an upcoming national motocross event in Busiika.

The Mountain Dew Xtreme Xperience Tour has been on for the past three weeks and will end mid next month with two grand bashes that will likely feature two national motocross riders.
“We decided to do the tour using motocross as a pillar because it is arguably the most extreme sport in Uganda and Mountain Dew has closely been associated with the sport in Uganda for more than five years,” said Mr Innocent Tibayeita, the head of marketing and sales at Crown Beverages Limited, the bottlers of Mountain Dew.
Crown Beverages Limited have invested aleast Shs400m in the tour. It is aimed at engaging the youth and inspiring them to be bold, adventurous, daring and living their lives to the fullest.
