KAMPALA. He may be a surgeon by profession but Dr Kato Sebbaale’s love for sport knows no boundaries. Well, the Case Medical Centre CEO hit a sackful of boundaries as a national cricketer in his heyday and later served as chairman of the local body. He remains involved as the patron of the oldest club - Africa Cricket Club. Sebbaale also played hockey at King’s College Budo until club level to acceptable standards and still does his Hash House Harrier (HHH3) and daily runs with a hockey stick in hand as a precaution to wade off loose dogs. And he hasn’t stopped there. He took up golf a few years ago and his new love has seen him fund a state-of-the-art golf practice range behind Sabaganzi House at Budo. The range is fully operational with a mini pro-shop. Last month, he enjoyed a round of golf with celebrity star golfers like world No.1 Rory McIlroy, Spaniard Sergio Garcia, South African Ernie Else and Fabrizio Zanotti to mention but a few during the Pro-Am of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. And SCORE has learnt, the Palm Valley Golf Resort captain will be on his way to watch the knockout phase of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Well, well, the Sebbaale seems to do it all, if it is sport. But what else is up your sleeves, Doc?
