KAMPALA.

Scoring goals is a must for Uganda Cranes against Comoros on September 4 at Namboole, if the qualification bid is to be achieved.
In Geoffrey Massa, Yunus Sentamu, Emma Okwi, Geoffrey Sserunkuuma and Erisa Ssekisambu, Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic seems to have a potent attacking force to get the goals.

Sserunkuuma’s three goals in three matches (two in the league) for KCCA earned him the national team recall after an eight-month absence – and he is ready to make it count.

“I know what is expected of me at the Cranes team – goals – and I am in the right shape to score after a good start with KCCA,”

Sserunkuuma, once Uganda Cranes’ all-time leading goal scorer, said.
He knows the competition for striking slots is at hand but he is prepared to show his worth if given an opportunity.

“If I get a chance in the friendly game against Kenya, I will show that I am in shape to play in the crucial tie against Comoros,” he said.

“Sserunkuuma is the most accomplished striker in his generation that has Massa, Hamis Kitagenda, Eugene Ssepuya, Robert Ssentongo, Martin Muwanga and Peter Ssenyonjo,” KCCA manager Mike Mutebi, a former Cranes coach, told Saturday Monitor.

“His (Sserunkuma) predatory instincts and box awareness is just what the Cranes need to overcome the Comoros.”
