Vipers' trophy parade caps season of reckoning
Kampala.
It was a time of fanfare as club fans thronged the streets to party with the players that gave them a reason to celebrate.
On Wednesday, Vipers painted the city red as they took it a notch higher by parading the Azam Uganda Premier League and Fufa Junior league trophies aboard an open-top bus.
They excited and vociferous convoy started from Kololo Airstrip and make their first stopover at Hima Cement Offices, who are their premier sponsors.
The morning drizzle threatened to dim the mood but no one cared. The growing convoy then headed to neighbouring DFCU offices, who entered a partnership with the club this term.
The procession, whose numbers had now doubled, headed to Wandegeya, joined to the City Centre and connected to Lubiri.
Their was a merrymaking stop over at Lubiri Palace, before heading to Kibuye, Zzana, Kajjansi before ending at Kisubi Trading Centre.
Vipers sealed their third league title four points clear of KCCA after overturning their fortunes midway the season.
“We believe your sponsorship has bore fruit. This is the beginning and we promise more trophies,” Vipers Legal Director Alex Luganda told DFCU officials at their offices in Kololo.
