Woodball star Zawedde shows she can shoot the hoops

In the women’s team challenge final, Winnie Nanyondo, spurred on by a huge home crowd, led Makerere to a 6-5 victory over KIU’s Fantastic Four. The men’s title went to KIU at the expense of Makerere.

Kampala- Lillian Zawedde’s demeanor is nowhere near that of a basketball. She appears to be a very slow, lazy lady whose speed is only suited for games that involve very little physical activity.
Unbelievably fast, accurate with her shot, Zawedde shocked many with an eye-catchin
g act during the final of the Sprite 3x3 University Challenge at Makerere recently. The Ndejje University student earned cheers by beating a male-dominated lot in a 3-point shooting contest.

Zawedde, more popular for her woodball prowess, went ahead to ‘dare’ national league two-time men’s MVP Ben Komakech in the final round. She ran him close with Komakech edging the challenge by a single shot.
