Wounded Rhinos, Mongers search for solace in Nile Rugby Premiership

KAMPALA.

Fresh from suffering losses to Toyota Buffaloes and Betway Kobs respectively, Shell Rimula Rhinos and Entebbe-based Sadolin Mongers meet this evening with intent of bouncing back to winning ways in the Nile Special Rugby Premiership.

Stuck in fourth place, big-spending Rhinos have blown hot and cold but Eric Mulamula has remained positive and patient with his teammates citing plenty of room for improvement.

“Everyone is working hard and it will pay off at some stage, “he told SCORE. “We just have to remain patient with each other as we try to get better,” he added.
Mongers leaked in 55 points against Kobs at home last weekend in one of their worst displays at the ‘House of Pain’ in years.

Poor attitude
Lock John Wandicho thought the team’s attitude was poor on the day and they must get more positive.
“The boys didn’t seem to be ready for game, everything was wrong and we want to fix whatever never worked out last week immediately,” said Wandicho.

Pace setters Hima Cement Heathens will look to maintain their lead at the summit when they host Warriors at Kyadondo. Despite winning 11 out of 11, there is still dissatisfaction in Heathens’ camp as they claim their best is yet to come out.

“We might be on top but everyone is striving to impress the coach as he keeps demanding more from everyone,” said fullback Joseph Oyet (pictured inset).
“The competition for places at Heathens is in full gear and no one wants to step off the gas. For now I am enjoying my time in the middle.”

Champions Kobs’ win at Mongers last Saturday has lifted the spirits in the camp and they will be raring to go when Mulago-based Rams visit them at Legends in the day’s early kick off.

“We had a good game in Entebbe and hopefully we can build on that because the season still has even harder challenges ahead,” said Kobs’ James Ijongat.
