She might be a judicial officer but she has gone through one hell of a broken marriage that has made her roll down her judicial sleeves to put her harrowing account into writing.
Pastor Margaret Mutonyi of Jubilee Christian Life Church International, Kireka, also a judicial officer with the High Court, launched her book titled “Biblical Principles of Love” at Namboole stadium last week.
At the launch, she said she conceived the idea after going through a stormy broken relationship with her husband that left her asking many questions about love.
“The devil robbed me of love but I discovered there is one person in this world who can love me all the time and that is Jesus Christ; He has transformed my life for the better,” Pastor Mutonyi said.
Pastor Wilson Kulaba, who officially launched the book, said, “Africa would be a better place if people came out like pastor Mutonyi and put their life experiences in writing. Recently, I was in the US and a Hollywood actor approached me about Mutonyi’s book; he had read it and intended to produce a movie based on her experience and bought himself a copy for Shs500,000.”
Bishop David Kiganda of Christianity Focus Centre Kisenyi also bought a copy at Shs300,000. Other dignitaries present at the launch were the Supreme Court Registrar, Ms Hareriata Wolayo, who bought a copy at Shs100,000. In the book, Mutonyi makes known that many marriages are breaking down after a short period before celebrating their jubilee because they are not based on love. Still, the author illustrates in her 161-page book how people, regardless of their background - social, religious, cultural and educational, make mistakes in respect to love. The book also intends to help the youth who are thinking of getting into long lasting relationships, parents, who have an obligation to advise their children, relationship counsellors, spiritual leaders and the broken-hearted.
Mutonyi, who pastors the women on the prison team at Jubilee Christian Life Church International, also attempts in her book to differentiate between genuine and false love by examining the distinct characteristics usually mistaken for the latter.
The book further brings out clearly the Biblical principles of love, which are a foundation for sound, strong and incorruptible relationships.
