Girls top UCE in Tororo

Girls topped in the Uganda Certificate of Education examinations in Tororo District for the fourth consecutive year, Daily Monitor can reveal.
Out of the top six candidates in the district, five were girls, three coming from Tororo Girls School and two from Rock High School .
Hadija Nantambi of Tororo Girls School emerged top in the district with Aggregate 11 followed by fellow schoolmates, Anne Emojong and Sharot Najuma who both scored Aggregate 13. Arnold Ongiro of Rock High School was the only boy who emerged among the top six with Aggregate 13. Shaily Doshi and Budia Laxmi, both of Rock High completed the fifth and sixth positions with Aggregates 14.
Mujuma, Doshi, Budhia and Ongiro all want to do sciences and become engineers while Emojong wants to become a doctor like her late father Paul Emojong.
Tororo Girls School also continued with its dominance, registering 110 in Division One out of the 280 candidates who obtained Division One in the district, though there was a marked decline from 154 who obtained Division One the previous year.
