About 300 secondary school teachers in Kabale District shock following the deletion of their names from the government payroll.

The affected teachers say they realized their names are missing from the payroll after missing their October, November and December salaries.

They are demanding an explanation from the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer why their names are missing from the payroll.

Mr Charles Badidi ,a Teacher at Buranga Secondary School in Kamuganguzi Sub County wondered why he was deleted from the payroll in October last year despite teaching for the last thirty-four years.

Mr Badidi told this reporter that he is tired of being told to fill salary application forms whenever he approaches the office of the CAO to push for his pay.

Mr Brazio Kyomukama, a teacher from Bubaya Secondary School, said the deletion of his name from the payroll has impacted negatively on his family.
“I have now resorted to borrowing money from my friends and the village savings group to sustain my family, which is very disturbing,” Mr Kyomukama said.

However, Mr Albert Matsiko Mutungwire, the Kabale District Chief Administrative Officer called for patience, saying his office is working on the teacher's salaries.
