KAMPALA. Police have cautioned parents to take necessary measures to ensure that their children have paid school fees in respective banks to avoid incidents where students spend the money in sports betting.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Mr Emilian Kayima, yesterday said police receives many cases of students losing school fees to sport betting, especially at the beginning of the term.

“It would be better if the parents take the responsibility of paying school fees in the banks, and then hand over receipts to the students.,” Mr Kayima said yesterday.
Betting is a popular business in all parts of the country and it has attracted many young people that want to make big profits after investing a few coins.
Unfortunately, many unlucky students after they have lost the bets, claim that they were attacked by criminals on their way to school.
